What is hibachi at Jinbeh?

Hibachi at Jinbeh is tableside Japanese cooking on a large iron griddle (teppanyaki style), performed by a skilled chef directly in front of your group. A typical hibachi meal at Jinbeh includes onion soup, salad with ginger dressing, fried rice, grilled vegetables, and your choice of protein, chicken, shrimp, scallops, steak, filet mignon, lobster tail, or combinations. The chef performs knife tricks, builds the famous onion volcano, and cooks each protein to order on the grill. Hibachi tables seat up to 10 guests around the grill. The experience runs about 60 to 75 minutes and includes our signature mustard sauce, ginger sauce, and yum yum sauce.

Technically, what most American restaurants call 'hibachi' is teppanyaki, cooking on a flat iron griddle. True traditional hibachi refers to a small charcoal grill. In DFW and across the US, the terms are used interchangeably for tableside Japanese griddle cooking, and that is what Jinbeh has served since 1988. Our Frisco location uses gas-powered grills and Lewisville uses electric, both producing the high, even heat needed for the show. Hibachi is a dine-in only experience because the entertainment and the food arrive together; we do not do hibachi takeout because the rice, vegetables, and proteins lose their character in a to-go container. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for groups of six or more.
