Jinbeh Japanese Restaurant - Home

What does the name Jinbeh mean?

The name Jinbeh was once a common surname among Japanese farmers and peasants during the feudal medieval ages of Japan. These hardworking people cultivated the rice paddies that fed entire villages, embodying values of humility, honesty, and dedication. When Jinbeh first opened in 1988, the founder chose the name deliberately. Coming from humble beginnings himself, he came from a poor family and built the restaurant from nothing into what it is today. The name serves as a daily reminder of where he came from and the three values that became the spiritual foundation of the business: humble, hardworking, and honest. Those same values still guide everything Jinbeh does today, in the family ownership that continues to run both locations.

The three-word philosophy of humble, hardworking, and honest shows up across every detail of the restaurant. It is why the kitchen takes the time to make every sauce in-house, including the proprietary garlic butter that is prepared the day before so the flavors meld. It is why the head sushi chef, who has been at Jinbeh for nearly 30 years, still trains every new sushi team member personally. It is why the floor team remembers regular guests by name and welcomes back three generations of the same families. What started in a small Las Colinas space, featured by D Magazine as early as 1990, has become a multi-generational tradition. The name Jinbeh carries the weight of where the family came from and the work it took to get here.
