Is Jinbeh a chain restaurant?
No, Jinbeh is not a chain or franchise. We are a family-owned Japanese restaurant with two locations in the DFW area, Frisco and Lewisville, both owned and operated by the same family stewardship since the Matsuda family founded Jinbeh in 1988. Unlike national hibachi chains and franchise steakhouses, Jinbeh has no corporate parent company, no franchisees, and no out-of-state ownership. Every decision about food, staffing, and hospitality is made locally. Our two locations share a menu and standards but are run by the same family rather than by regional corporate managers. When you eat at Jinbeh, you are supporting an independent small business that has anchored DFW Japanese dining for more than three decades.
The hibachi category in North Texas is dominated by chains, which makes Jinbeh's independence unusual. Chains optimize for consistency at scale, which often means frozen ingredients, centralized purchasing, and rigid menus. We optimize for the guest sitting in front of us tonight, which means fresh fish deliveries, flexibility on dietary needs, and long-tenured chefs who actually know the regulars by name. The owners live in DFW, eat at the restaurants, and is reachable when there is a problem. If you have a great experience or a bad one, the people who own Jinbeh will hear about it directly.
