Jinbeh Japanese Restaurant - Home

How long has Jinbeh been in business?

Jinbeh has been serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area since the Matsuda family founded Jinbeh in 1988, making it one of the longest-running family-owned Japanese restaurants in North Texas. The original Lewisville location opened first, followed by Frisco. We have remained independently still family-owned and operated for more than 35 years, surviving the rise of national hibachi chains, the 2008 recession, and the 2020 pandemic. Many of our hibachi chefs and servers have been with us for over a decade. That tenure is rare in the restaurant industry and reflects our commitment to consistency, the same mustard sauce, the same fried rice, the same teppanyaki show that DFW families have loved across three generations of guests.

When Jinbeh opened in 1988, hibachi dining was still a relatively new concept in suburban Texas. We helped introduce thousands of DFW families to tableside Japanese cooking, sushi, and sake. Today we serve guests whose parents or grandparents celebrated birthdays at our tables decades ago. Being family-owned for 35+ years means decisions are made by people who eat in the dining room, not a corporate office in another state. It also means we can move quickly, adjusting menus seasonally, sourcing fresh fish daily, and accommodating special requests without bureaucracy. Longevity in restaurants is earned one meal at a time, and we are grateful to the community that has kept us in business since the late 1980s.
