Does Jinbeh have low-sodium options?

Yes, Jinbeh can accommodate low-sodium dietary needs at both Frisco and Lewisville locations with advance notice. Hibachi proteins (chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops) can be cooked without added soy sauce or salt, tell your server and chef when you arrive and they will use minimal seasoning on the grill. Steamed white rice has less sodium than fried rice. Sashimi and basic nigiri can be enjoyed with reduced or no soy sauce (low-sodium soy sauce is available on request at most times). Sauces vary: yum yum is moderate, mustard and ginger are moderate to higher. Miso soup and any teriyaki preparations are naturally higher in sodium. Communicate your needs at the start of the meal for best results.

Japanese cooking generally relies on soy sauce, miso, and salt-cured ingredients, which means sodium content is something to manage actively rather than assume. The lowest-sodium hibachi configuration: grilled chicken or shrimp with vegetables, steamed white rice, no marinade, no soy sauce on the grill, and using lemon or a small amount of ginger sauce for flavor. Sushi lowest-sodium configuration: sashimi (just the fish) with no soy sauce, or low-sodium tamari on the side. Skip preparations advertised as teriyaki, miso, or katsu, these are higher sodium. For guests managing hypertension or kidney conditions, tell your server clearly and we will work with you. Chefs adjust readily for low-sodium guests with notice.
